Q. Who decides if I can have planning permission?
A. Burgess Hill Town Council Planning Committee hold regular meetings (approximately every three weeks) in the Council Chamber at 96 Church Walk, Burgess Hill RH15 9AS. The meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
The Planning Committee agree a recommendation which is sent to the local planning authority, Mid Sussex District Council, who make the final decision either at their Planning meeting or by a Planning Officer making a delegated decision.
Q. How can I appeal against a decision?
A. The Planning Inspectorate is the body responsible for the consideration of planning appeals. It suggests that an applicant should look to negotiate with the Local Planning Authority in the first instance to achieve a satisfactory conclusion before submitting an appeal.
