Mid Sussex Healthy Walks
Why not explore more of the surrounding Sussex countryside and sign up to Mid Sussex Healthy walks. With a few walks taking place in Burgess Hill, others take you out to Lindfield, Hurstpierpoint and Balcombe to name a few. The walks have different levels and so depending on ability there will be a walk that suits everyone! Come into the Help Point and pick up the winter healthy walk dates and information on how to sign up to join the next walk.

These walks are free and provided by Glendale Countryside Services for Mid Sussex District Council with the kind help of walk leaders who are volunteers.

Take Up Running or Jogging
The crisp January air can be invigorating for runners and joggers. Burgess Hill has several parks and trails perfect for outdoor exercise. If you’re new to running, consider joining a Couch to 5K program https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/get-running-with-couch-to-5k/ 

or a local running group to build endurance and stay motivated.

Get a Health Check or Wellness Consultation
January is a smart time to check in with your health. Mid Sussex Wellbeing team are a good starting point to seeing what is available locally in regards to improving your health. You can also get support for things like getting your family fitter, doing some regular exercise, dealing with stress, kicking a habit, or simply improving your general wellbeing. Health and exercise taster event
Why not book onto the Health and Exercise taster event on Saturday 25th January at The Triangle Leisure Centre. This will be bookable from 6th January and is available for over 18’s to try out free exercise classes. Blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol tests will also be available. Prioritise your health in January to ensure a healthy new year! This event has been funded by Mid Sussex District Council and is being delivered by Burgess Hill Town Council.

Take Up Cycling
Cycling is another low-impact exercise that’s excellent for cardiovascular health and building leg strength. Burgess Hill offers plenty of cycling-friendly routes, including the Burgess Hill Green Circle Network.
