Mid Sussex District Council has been unsuccessful in its £18.5 million bid to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund which would have unlocked the regeneration of Burgess Hill Town Centre. With such disappointing news, the District Council are looking to develop a “Plan B” which will involve exploring alternative opportunities with key partners which will include Burgess Hill Town Council.
Going forward, it is important Burgess Hill Town Council is fully involved in what Plan B might look like and is keen to involve residents in developing ideas.
In combination with the recent series of public meetings held at the town councils offices, residents are asked to complete the attached short survey (Word or PDF version) and send it back to the town council:
Plan-B-Martlets-Shopping-Centre (Word)
Plan-B-Martlets-Shopping-Centre (PDF)
You can return the survey by post to Burgess Hill Town Council, 96 Church Walk, RH15 9AS or drop it into the town council’s Help Point or email it to council@burgesshill.gov.uk
Attached, also, is a report from Lambert Smith Hampton, a long established firm of property consultants retained by MSDC to advise on the Martlets Shopping Centre. This report provides some context to the challenge regeneration schemes face.
