Wowzer Wednesday

Wowzer Wednesdays

Wowzer Wednesdays are a staple in the Town Council holiday programme.
With events in May half-term, the summer holidays and October half-term, there is always something for families to enjoy over the holiday period. Burgess Hill Town Council provides these FREE activities for the benefit of our community.

Summer Holidays 2024

Opening in style, we’re starting with the Tale of Jemima Puddleduck on Wednesday 24 July. Join Quantum Theatre in St John’s Park for a free open-air theatre experience, 1 – 2.30pm.

31 July sees circus skills on Church Walk with Circus Allstars, drop in anytime between 11am – 1pm at the Bandstand. Next up Tom Foolery joins us on 7 August, for hilarity with his magic shows at 11am and 12pm. Not to be missed, pop on down to the Bandstand, rain or shine!

Burgess Hill Creative Community will be running crafts on 14 August, at the Bandstand. From 11am until 1pm, join them and get your creative juices running! (Please note this will be subject to change, should the weather be wet, please keep an eye on our social media for updates.) For the penultimate Wowzer Wednesday, and the final on Church Walk, come and test your skills with Jolf on 21 August. The team will have their mini golf set up in the Stone Garden on Church Walk, from 11am – 1pm.

Then the summer holiday series will finish with an inflatable extravaganza finale in St John’s Park on Wednesday 28 August, 11am – 3pm. All the sessions are drop in, so there’s no need to book, just show up! They are also all free to attend!

May half term

Wowzer Wednesdays in 2024 launched in May half term with over 350 children attending the free inflatables session in St John’s Park! Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the free fruit provided by Co-Op, as well as the Little Kickers tasters and Triangle Leisure Centre’s soft play.

2023

We had a whole range of fun holiday activities in 2023 for our Wowzer Wednesday programme!
May saw our annual inflatables event in St John’s Park with hundreds of happy faces enjoying the sunshine.
Summer returned to the town centre with crafts, magic, puppetry and circus skills by the bandstand – another inflatable extravaganza finished out the holidays with a bang!
The Witches Mountain returned in October, where children could climb to the highest peak of the climbing wall.
Christmas was started in style with a synthetic ice-rink in Church Walk for the December Wowzer Wednesday!
